What do we want to achieve?

\r\n

\r\n

It is our dream - together with the business world - to give a Belgian player a taste of world top chess within the coming years.

\r\n

The many visits of Kasparov to \'Your Next Move\' and the norms tournament InventiChess in Antwerp have demonstrated that we can put Belgium on the chess map.

\r\n

It has been a while since we had a vice-worldchampion in the youth category in the person of Stef Soors and a European under 12 girls champion, Eva Baekelant. But in schools chess is booming more than ever: 400 competitors in the school chess championships: something is going on in the Belgian chess world.

\r\n

We neither lack examples nor talent, but the support for our chess-playing top youngsters is limited. This is why we need a project to lift our top players to a higher level. Even more: to a world level.

\r\n

Go for Grandmaster is that project.
